Shillong Lajong Football Club was founded in 1983 by like-minded football enthusiasts from Shillong with the vision to promote the sport in Meghalaya and provide a platform for local talent.
The club was formally incorporated as Shillong Lajong Football Club Private Limited on 23rd November 2009, marking the beginning of a new professional era with enhanced corporate governance.
